Berlin: No hookers for Fire and Dice!
It turned out our otherwise great hotel was close to a somewhat shady area, and getting home at night led us through a neighborhood where we were unusually popular with the local girls..

Tomorrow we are setting sail for Czech and Prague. The roadtrip is about to become a roadtrip in it's right sense of speaking.
So, what can we say about Berlin?

It's huge. Taking a walk through the city is close to mission impossible. Dice has already bought himself a new pair of shoes. Let's hope those last longer than a day.

The über classic tourist shot: Dice in front of Brandenburger Tor.

During the last day we walked alot. But we did see alot too. Well known must see's like Brandenburger Tor, Reichstag and Potsdamer Platz is noticed, photographed and memorized. We went to the top of a tall building at Potzdamer Platz with Eurpopes fastest elevator to look at the city from above. An epic sight.

We also got to see an art museum in Hamburger Banhof, and a sandcastle festival place right at the banks of Spree.

So what do we think about this place? What are the people like? The food? The girls?

The People:
Germans are very nice. And that's about that. Not an angry face on any of them when we had to ask around. They are open and polite. Even the hookers approached us in a respectful manner!

The food:
We have had three meals during our stop here. The breakfast at the hotel was allright. Just the way a hotelbreakfast should be. The second meal was disastrous. Dice had currywurst with fries, while Fire had a nastylooking mincemeatcake... thingy, with potatosalad. Idoform is a great invention. We might regret that meal tomorrow. The third meal was at a place called Zoe in East Berlin. It was a fine place with good food and huggable people. A good diningtip for future Berlintravellers with it's exiting combination of Asian and Mediterranean food.

The Place:
3,5 million inhabitants is quite alot. You don't get that feeling here. Large streets and wide sidewalks makes the city look open. The trees also helps us getting that feeling. It was not that hard to drive into the centrum, even though it was scary. It's a long way from 40000 in Bodø to 3,5 millions in Berlin. You can't possibly see the whole city by feet. It's 60 km in diameter...

The girls:
The girls here are nicelooking. Few are stunning, and about the same amount are the opposite of stunning. Hookers generally looked great, but a regular Norwegian dude should see a warning light when a beautiful lonesome woman approaches them at 0100 a tuesday night.

Traveltip by Mr. Dice:
Close the zipper on the bag before you lift it up. It's much easier to keep the stuff on the inside of the bag, than having to pick it up from the floor in the check-in area at the airport.

Talk to you later.
Dice and Fire.

More pictures from Berlin:

Dice is driving our Megane from the airport to central Berlin. An adrenaline-infusing experience, he had never before driven in a city larger than Bodø!

Fire standing next to our Renault Megane CC, our home base for the next 3 weeks or so. The car is beautiful, although it will never fully replace T-Rex.

Dice is taking his first bite of his curry bratwurst. A dreadful, horrible and disgusting meal!

Our favorite piece in the art museum is called "History and memory". You can see the left and right frames have the same shapes, but with different colorings.

The park in the middle of Berlin is huge! And it's a proper forest, not ust a pansy grass field like Hyde park or anything. When you enter, you can actually hear animal sounds. We managed to find a spot in a clearing, and settled down for a quick game of Star Munchkin.

This was the coolest event ever, a sand castle festival in the middle of Berlin! This one was the largest one, with almost infinite details. Check out the dragon's neck which becomes a wall with a road on top, which again leads into the village on the top. Amazing stuff!

This was one of the coolest sculptures, a rat on a pile of cheese. Great composition and detail!
